Dear Shadow,

आसार नज़र आते हैं

जब निराशा की धुंध में आशा,

और नफ़रत की आग में मोहब्बत,
दुश्मनों की भीड़ में दोस्त 
मिल जाएँ तो आसार नज़र आते हैं। 

जब रास्ता चलते कोई मासूम
बिन वजह मुस्करा दे,
कोई राहगीर यूँ ही ही पास बैठ 
अपने दिल का हाल सुना दे 
तो सच कहते हो आसार नज़र आते हैं। 

जब कोई सालों बिछड़ा प्यार,
अचानक किसी राह में मिल जाये
और आप को अपना हाल सुनाये 
तो सच कहते हो आसार नज़र आते हैं।

यादें कभी बूढ़ी नहीं होतीं

वो किताब के पीछे से आखिरी बेंच पर बैठ, 
उनको अपनी लटों से खेलते देखना,
वो पानी पीने के बहाने क्लास से निकल कर
चोरी से उनको एक नज़र भर देखना,
वो दूर बैठ उनकी हर हलचल में डूबना, 
वो छुट्टी के दिन सूना सूना महसूस करना, 
वो रफ के पन्ने पर उनका लिखा जुमला देख
बार बार देख ख़ुशी से पागल होना,
वो क्लास रजिस्टर में चालाकी से
उनका जन्मदिन पता कर लेना,
(हाँ वो बात अलग है कि फिर भी,
विश करने की हिम्मत ना कर पाना)
वो उनकी एक झलक के लिए झरोंखे से,
एक टक देखना और सपने देखना,
वो सब अभी भी नया सा लगता है,
यकीन मानो यादें कभी बूढ़ी नहीं होतीं,
और ना ही हमको बूढ़ा होने का एहसास होने देतीं,
वो तो एहसासों को हमेशा तारो ताज़ा रखती हैं,
और कभी रास्ते में बचपन का साथी मिलने पर, 
बीते दिनों को फिर से जिंदा कर देतीं हैं. 
यादें कभी बूढ़ी नहीं होतीं...

काश

सब कुछ विशालकाय है अब,
कुर्सी का साइज़ बैठने वाले से चार गुना, 
बिल्डिंग की ऊँचाई आसमान तब,
गाडी की कीमत पहाड़ सी,
क्लब एंट्री फी मानो खुद के कद से ज्यादा,
मकान की कीमत समुन्दर सी अथाह,
हर चीज़ की कीमतें ऊँचाइयों पर हैं. 
काश हमारी संवेदनशीलता भी ऐसे ही बढती,
काश हम चीज़ों जुटाने में खुद को ना खोते,
काश दिल के ज़ज्बातों की भी कुछ कीमत होती,
काश हम सरल, सहज सच्चे इंसान होते, 
काश....

धुंधली तस्वीर

मेज पर रखी वो तस्वीर कुछ धुंधली सी लगी,
सोचा पास पड़े सूती लत्ते से झटका देता हूँ।
बांये हाथ में तस्वीर और दांये में लत्ता लिया,
पोटलों पर लपेट कर एक कोने से साफ करना चालू किया।
देखता हूँ चार छह बार भी पोंछने पर धुंध ज्यों की त्यों है,
अचानक नजर कमरे की उस दीवार पर पडी जिसपे कल ही सफेदी हुई थी,
लेकिन ये क्या, ये भी धुंधली ही थी।
सब कुछ साफ़ था उसी क्षण,
धुंध तस्वीर पर नहीं मेरी आँखों में थी।

मेहरुनी पल

अभी अभी एक छोटा सा ख्याल आया,
जब आप मेहरुनी शूट में थे वो दिन याद आया।
वक़्त शाम का था फिज़ा में लाली सी थी,
हवा के झोंके ने ज़ुल्फ आपकी बिखेरी सी थी।
आपके कॉफ़ीन लबों पर मंद सी मुस्कराहट थी,
लगा था मानो हवा के झोंके ने आपको गुदगुदी की थी।
इस दिलखुश मंजर को चोरी चोरी देखते रहे थे हम,
फिर कुछ देर में दरवाजे के पीछे आप हो गये थे गुम।
